Theses and Job Opportunities

We are always looking for motivated students and early-career researchers who are interested in working at the interface of experimental particle and nuclear physics, detector development, and data analysis.

Bachelor's and Master's theses topics:

We regularly offer Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis projects, including but not limited to the following topics:

1. Detector development & instrumentation
2. Optical simulation and fibre-based light collection
3. Background modelling & event reconstruction
4. Nuclear structure effects in double beta decays

Projects can be tailored to match your background and interests and may involve hands-on laboratory work, simulations, and/or data analysis.

Doctoral Positions:

We offer PhD positions in experimental neutrino and nuclear physics, with a focus on detector development, simulation, and data analysis. Doctoral researchers work in an international and collaborative environment and are encouraged to present their results at conferences and workshops.

Openings are announced regularly, but inquiries are welcome at any time.

We currently offer the following PhD research topics:

1. Mechanical design of the inner detector (Possible supervisors: Prof. Böser, Dr. Schoppmann, Prof. Weber, Prof. Wurm)

2. Background and sensitivity studies (Possible supervisors: Prof. Böser, Dr. Schoppmann, Prof. Weber, Prof. Wurm)
