The first NuDoubt++ paper is on ArXivWe are thrilled to announce the publication of our first paper on ArXiv, detailing a significant advancement in the study of double beta plus decay, a rare nuclear disintegration process. Our research introduces a novel detector concept designed to overcome the challenges associated with this elusive phenomenon, including suppressed decay probabilities, challenging decay signatures, and the low natural abundance of suitable nuclei. By combining hybrid and opaque scintillation detector technology with innovative light read-out techniques, our approach is particularly effective in detecting positron (beta plus) signatures. We anticipate that our method will enable the discovery of two-neutrino double beta plus decay within a 1 tonne-week exposure and allow us to probe neutrinoless double beta plus decays with a significantly improved sensitivity compared to existing experimental limits.
